AMD Puts $1B Into Meta Equity, Helios Racks Power Muse

AMD and Meta expanded their AI partnership, with AMD disclosing a $1 billion investment in Meta's equity offering and confirming that its Helios rack-scale systems and EPYC processors are now running Meta's core AI stack. AMD silicon powers Meta's Muse personal AI agent and provides Day-0 support for the Muse model family, including Muse Spark Open and Muse Glimmer.
The deal is another data point in the circular-financing pattern now normal across AI infrastructure: Meta's enlarged raise of up to $97.5 billion lists NVIDIA, AMD and Broadcom as cornerstone investors intending to buy up to $5 billion of the stock, while the same companies compete for the resulting hardware orders. NVIDIA separately confirmed a $3 billion investment in Meta on October 27.

For procurement planners, the AMD-Meta alignment firming up means Helios racks, which pair Instinct MI455X GPUs with sixth-generation EPYC Venice CPUs and Pensando networking, join NVIDIA reference designs as a mainstream datacenter platform. That diversifies demand across server motherboards, high-current power delivery and thermal hardware, and it strengthens the case for dual-sourcing on server-grade components.
The companies said they are aligning product roadmaps around future Meta workloads, including next-generation EPYC Verano CPUs and the Instinct MI500 series. Meta is also targeting a tenfold improvement in Muse compute efficiency over the next year through inference optimization, which shifts some spend from raw GPU count to networking and memory upgrades.

AMD shares closed up nearly 3% on the news. Hardware teams should watch the Helios deployment timeline and ODM order flow for the rack program, since each deployment converts directly into board-level component demand outside the NVIDIA ecosystem.
